ONAP Dublin リリース ー デプロイメントを強化、オープンソース ネットワーキング スタック全体の商業活動を促進

2019年7月9日 サンフランシスコ発 － オープン ネットワーキング プロジェクト間のコラボレーションとオペレーショナル エクセレンスを促進する LF Networking (LFN) は、ONAP Dublin のリリースと新メンバー6社の加盟を発表しました。ONAPの4番目のリリースとなる Dublin は、大手通信事業者 (Deutsche Telekom、KDDI、Swisscom、Telecom Italia、Telstra など) による新たなデプロイメント計画と、多くの主要ベンダーによる ONAP ベースのプロダクトとソリューションを含む商業活動の動きを加速させます。また、オープン ネットワーキング スタックや標準など、マネージメントとオーケストレーションに関する業界連携の中心となります。

ONAP Dublin リリースと合わせて、新メンバーの加盟 (Aarna Networks、Loodse、LIONS Center at Pennsylvania State University、Matrixx Software、VoerEir AB、XCloud Networks) は、オープンソースとオープン スタンダード ベースのネットワーキング技術のスピーディーな開発および採用のための LFN のグローバルなエコシステムの成長を促進します。

Linux Foundation の Networking, Orchestration, Edge & IoT 担当ゼネラル マネージャーである Arpit Joshipura は、次のように述べています。

ONAP Dublin を使用して商業活動を促進するエンドユーザー デプロイメント

通信事業者とベンダーは、Dublinリリース サイクル間にONAPの新たなプロダクション デプロイメントを発表しました。大手通信事業者は ONAP を利用して消費者向けモビリティサービスを強化し (AT&T)、いくつかのヨーロッパの国々でネットワーク管理システム アクセスの品質を監視しています (Orange)。また、Bringcom、China Mobile、China Telecom、Deutsche Telekom、KT、Reliance Jio、Swisscom Turk Telecom、Telstra、TIM を含む通信事業者は、2019年末までに追加のプロダクション デプロイメントの可能性があるテスト、PoCまたはトライアルを実施します。

ベンダー側では、Aarna Networks、Amdocs、BOCO、Huawei、ZTE が、ONAPをベースとした専業のONAPディストリビューションまたは製品を発表しました。さらに、Accenture、Ampere、Arris、Ciena、Ericsson、iconectiv、Netsia、Nokia、Pantheon、Ribbon、Rift、Tech Mahindra、Wipro により新たなデモおよびサポート サービスが提供されました。

最新のデプロイメントはONAPのエンドユーザー間における継続的な成長を表しています。

ONAP Dublinのその他の新機能は以下の通りです :

  • 新たな拡張ブループリント :
    • Dublin は、ONAP を使用し PON を介したマルチギガビットのレジデンシャル コネクティビティを実証するための新しいレジデンシャル コネクティビティ ブループリント、ブロードバンド サービスを紹介します。
    • マルチリリース 5G ブループリントは、PNFサポート、パフォーマンス管理、障害管理 (PM、FM) モニタリング、物理セルID (PCI) を使用したホーミング、次期リリースのエンド ツー エンドのネットワークスライシングをサポートするモデリングの進歩を強化します。
    • CCVPNブループリントには現在、サービスと帯域幅のオンデマンドの動的追加が含まれています。
  • OVP 機能強化 : 今年4月、ONAP コミュニティ内で開発された要件に基づく公開されている VNF コンプライアンス テスト ツーリングによる VNF 検証を含む拡張された OPNFV 検証プログラム (OVP) を開始しました。OVPは業界全体の要件に対してチェックしますが、一方で通信事業者固有 (例 : VMフレーバー、データプレーン アクセラレーション テクノロジーなど) の要件はチェックしません。このため Dublin は、 SDC に Vendor Software Product (VSP) コンプライアンス チェックを追加しギャップを埋めています。

最新のLFNメンバーは、100を超える既存のメンバー組織と協力して、FD.io、 ONAP、 OPNFV、 OpenDaylight、 PNDA、SNAS、 Tungsten Fabricを含む、LFNのネットワーキングプロジェクトの開発、テスト、実装を推進します。Aarna Networks、Loodse、Matrixx、VoerEir AB、XCloud Networks がシルバー メンバーとして、LIONS Center at Pennsylvania State University がアソシエイトメンバーとして加盟します。

Huawei

Orange
“Orange strongly believes that ONAP is the solution to align industry for network automation” said Emmanuel Bidet, vice president of Orange Labs Networks on Core Networks, Automation and Security. Orange adopts a pragmatic step-by-step approach by deploying in production a subset of ONAP components to monitor the quality of network management system access in several European countries. Orange also setup a comprehensive 18 days ONAP training to facilitate ONAP adoption in the company. We also see significant move in the community to better align the priorities with the operational requirements. As a founding member of ONAP, Orange is still increasing its commitment  to ONAP evolution aligned with our business priorities. In addition to the community OpenLab platform used by 150+ users , Orange leads the ONAP security subcommittee and introduced a new chain tool to improve the ONAP CI/CD process. Orange is also acting to align ONAP with standardization bodies (TMF, ETSI/NFV, 3GPP …).”

Swisscom
“Open source software is in the core of most of Swisscom’s products and internal systems and platforms. We believe that the LFN projects, and especially ONAP, play a key role in making the telecom industry more open.” said David Pérez Caparrós, Lead DevOps Engineer, Swisscom. “At Swisscom, we strive for high levels of automation and seek for a more standardized way to build the next generation of our current net-near IT platforms. We are evaluating how ONAP can help us to achieve that goal. As a first step, the BBS (Broadband Service) use case leverages ONAP’s  automation capabilities to enable our customers to move their CPE with services automatically configured at the new location – this helps increase customer satisfaction, while reducing operational costs and complexity in IT procedures.”

VoerEir AB
