Linux Creator Linus Torvalds appeared in a video this week to introduce the Linux Foundation’s new Introduction to Linux Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) with edX.
Torvalds talks about how Linux has changed since he built the operating system for his own use in 1991. He shares what makes Linux interesting to him. And he talks about what makes Linux and open source such a great career opportunity.
“Hopefully this turns into an opportunity for you to find something you find really interesting to do,” he says. “Everybody has something they can give to the project.”
The free training course will be available on the edX online learning platform starting Aug. 1, 2014. For more information, see our FAQ with Linux Foundation Executive Director Jim Zemlin and edX CEO Anant Agarwal. To register, visit the course page at edX.
