Thanks to the Free Software Foundation and its donors for producing this video that helps to expose the absurdity of our patent system today. It debuted earlier this month at the Connecticut Film Festival.
The 28-minute video (it’s worth it) does two things particularly well: 1) helps us to understand today’s issues based on where the patent system began, and 2) uses a style that puts a spotlight on how far some have gone to exploit our very broken patent system. Hopefully, this video can inform how we approach patent reform and call attention to the urgency for action.
There are some especially useful comments from Mark Webbink and Eben Moglen. Check it out here or by visiting http://patentabsurdity.com/watch.html.
